Reconstruction and renovation measures at the state-owned castle in Grimma for the accommodation of the district court of Grimma and the branch office of the Leipzig Public Prosecutor’s Office with special consideration of the issues of monument protection.
In the state-owned listed Grimma Castle from the 13th century, all the prerequisites for the long-term accommodation of the district court of Grimma and the Leipzig Public Prosecutor’s Office, Zweistelle Grimma were created in the course of the renovation and renovation measures An outstanding example of Saxon secular architecture: Grimma Castle is located in Grimma on Klosterstrasse in the immediate vicinity of the Mulde.
The conversion and renovation measures concerned the following components, which were combined to form a “new” building ensemble.
Components: Castle, granary with granary extension, extension with elevator and escape staircase, installation of tower ruins, connecting corridor, securing tower ruins, outdoor facilities.
The “Schloss Grimma” property received the Saxon State Prize for Building Culture 2013.
